As you know that Grab is one of the market giants of Singapore. Also, it is the biggest ride-hailing company in Southeast Asia. Well, Grab is already an established company which is even counted under fortune 500 companies. Fortune 500 are those 500 companies that rank according to their revenues. However, that is something many of you may be knowing. The latest news is that Grab's ride booking volume is increase day by day. Every day, the number of rides requests are getting double. A problem has also raised recently that the customers of Grab are not able to find their cabs, people are getting while finding their pickup location. Well, this has happened due to some malfunction in their maps.
Not only taxi services of Grab is facing issues but also the food delivery services are getting affected with this huge malfunction of Grab's map. However, that is not a big problem for Grab as the company have a huge mapping team. There are almost 250 mapping team of Grab out of which 100 are working from India remotely. To solve all the mapping issues, Grab's mapping teams have already covered more than 620,000 miles and till the next year, it will cover four million kilo meters of roads that will include 100 Southeast Asian cities.
According to the surveys and studies, it is been found that the Grab's team members have told that maps are one of the most important parts in ride-hailing and other on demand services. If this problem appears constantly then it will be getting frustrating for riders as well as the drivers too.

- Mapping From India
As told earlier that Grab is having its own 250 mapping teams and 100 of them are working remotely from India. These 100 teams include 4000 members that are using all their skills to scrutinize not only the cities of Indonesia but also some of the major countries of Southeast Asia. Till now, Grab is remotely scanning the cities of Indonesia from India through connecting with satellites images as well as the GPS data that is extracted from their driver's vehicle.
According to the studies, Grab is also getting prepared for the GoJek as Indonesia is land of GoJek which is also known as the Unicorn StartUps Company.
- Mapping Through Green Dots
Well, Grab has decided to do this job in different forms and strategies. Finally, they have come up with POI or you can say Point Of interest on their maps. Their mapping team decided to mark all the places which are mostly visited by the people and match all the places through satellite images including machine learning as well as rider & driver feedback. This will definitely help out the Grab to do mapping accurately.
